American Dream Factory in Tokyo Festival (F/T)

Summary
Taiwan-based Against Again Troupe create theatre themed around sexuality and identity. Here they focus on those born after the 1980 in Taiwan, through 12 stories revealing a generation both liberated in their lifestyles and weak in the face of social pressure. How will their youth and their dreams be swallowed by capitalism? From such diverse questions, we glean the existential values of the young.

Director, Composer

For many years he has worked as a theatre director, curator, composer, visual designer, and live musician in many art festivals and performances in Taiwan. He has acted as resident critic at Taipei Fringe Festival and Macao Fringe Festival. He is also a writer for non-mainstream art periodicals and online magazines. At the age of twenty he set up Against Again Troupe with friends in the field. Through the theatre, he unremittingly examines the condition of contemporary young people in our age of globalization, with a focus on class, gender, identity and survival.
