「Performance Review」有員工考核及表演檢查的雙關涵義;《年度考核協奏》為一個大型圖像記譜裝置(Graphical Notation),亦是一個樂器;長桌上的樂譜/舞譜結合了企業圖表與數據分析,將辦公室的身體轉譯為聲音事件及動作符碼,刻劃於桌上與周遭空間,表演者依桌上舞譜與樂譜指示,演奏具臨場性的聲響劇場(New Music Theater)。
這件作品以異化之身體做為考現學的材料,去檢視資本主義框架下「生產者」與「物」的社交模式,並藉由作曲、各種記譜方式與演奏,將上班族的日常「疏離化」(verfremdung),桌上不斷迴繞的火車是演奏記認的拍點,軌道刻度以2007年8月9日金融海嘯作為原點,以十年(decade)為單位重複「永劫回歸」式的時間循環,從而對資本主義的運行危機進行反覆預演。
“Performance
Review” has the double meaning of an employee assessment and also a critique of
a musical performance. Concert of Performance
Review is a large-scale graphical notation installation and
also a musical instrument. On a long table is a music score/dance score
integrating a business organization chart and statistical analysis. Human bodies
in an office are transcribed as sound events and motion symbols and engraved on
the table and in the surrounding space. By following the directions in the
dance and music scores on the table, the performers present an improvisational
form of New Music Theater. This work uses alienated bodies as archaeological materials, examining the capitalist framework of social relations between
“producer” and “object.” Through musical composition, different notation
methods, and performance, it expresses the distancing (verfremdung) of daily life from labor. The train constantly
circling on the table acts out a rhythm of memories. The gradation of the track
takes the financial crash of August 9, 2007 as its starting point, engaging in
a time cycle of “eternal recurrence” with decades as its units, and repeatedly
foreshadowing the crises that capitalism faces.
